DORIS France currently has an opportunity for a Junior Technical Safety / Loss Prevention Engineer based in our Paris Headquarters Office to participate in projects across all markets where DORIS is active. This role involves working on engineering projects and discipline development.
Job Description:
You will be involved in a large range of projects from conceptual phases to basic and detailed engineering phases with a wide variety of activities, including but not limited to:
- Definition of fire detection and gas leak detection means,
- Definition of active and passive firefighting measures (sizing of pumps and fire network, hydraulic calculations),
- Definition of installation safety philosophies (drainage, emergency shutdown and depressurization, flares and vents),
- Definition of emergency evacuation means,
- Hazardous area classification study (ATEX),
- Modelling of gas leak or fire scenarios using software such as PHAST,
- Preparation of specifications for fire protection, fire and gas detectors and safety equipment,
- Plot plan reviews and 3D model reviews,
- Preparation of safety plans,
- Preparation of technical bid evaluation and follow-up of subcontracted safety studies,
- Participation to HAZID, HAZOP, SIL review, etc.
You will be attached to the surface facilities department and report to the lead discipline engineer, project engineer, or project manager.
The technical safety engineer collaborates closely with and cooperates with other technical departments (process, electrical, instrumentation, structural, mechanical, design office, etc.) within the scope of project responsibilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in engineering with specialization in industrial risk control, loss prevention or industrial safety (fresh graduates accepted),
- Knowledge of PHAST software is a plus,
- Initial experience in Oil & Gas engineering is a plus,
- Organized, good interpersonal skills, capable of working in a multidisciplinary context internally and internationally.
- Fluent in English – Strong written (including report writing) and verbal communication skills,
- Mobility is essential, particularly for collaboration with foreign DORIS subsidiaries and participation to surveys in France and abroad, both offshore and onshore.
