DORIS Engineering and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) have been awarded the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract by POSCO International of South Korea for the Phase 3 development of SHWE project in Myanmar.
The SHWE Project is a multiple gas-condensate field integrated development within Blocks A-1 and A-3, located in the Bay of Bengal, offshore Myanmar. The SHWE development area consists of three major field areas: the central SHWE field, the northern SHWE Phyu field, and the southerly Mya field. The central SHWE field is located in approximately 140m water depth, with the existing SHP in a water depth of 111m. The Phase 3 Project comprises the provision of LP compression, to support ongoing production from the existing fields.
On the 23rd September 2019, DORIS Engineering in Paris, as HHI sub-contractor, started the Phase 3 FEED Design Competition whose scope includes a new LP Compression Platform bridge-connected to the existing SHP (Drilling, Central Production & Accommodation Platform).
Francis Carmigniani, DORIS Engineering MD, said : “We are very proud of working once more with our long term partner HHI for POSCO International and we are confident that DORIS expertise in designing fit-for-purpose offshore facilities along with HHI superior offshore construction and installation capabilities, will lead to a successful FEED as we did for the SHWE Phase 1”.
DORIS Engineering and HHI previously cooperated for Phase 1 of this project in 2009. The development of Phase 1 consisted of the SHP platform with capacity of 640 MMscfd installed by float-over as well as the subsea production system of Mya North, infield and export pipelines and Onshore Gas Terminal . The FEED Design Competition of full field was won by HHI and DORIS. The EPCIC was then performed by HHI, with Detailed Engineering of the SHP (25 000 tons topsides deck & 20 000 tons jacket) carried out by DORIS Engineering in 2010.
