OCEANIDE, the DORIS group subsidiary located in La Seyne-sur-Mer in the South of France, has been operating the BGO First test basin for more than ten years. BGO stands for « Bassin de Génie Océanique » in french.
BGO First is an advanced marine engineering and test basin facility where the best characteristics of the facilities already in use in research or industry have been successfully combined.
BGO First has the expertise and capabilities to carry out physical model testing of all types of marine structures (in deep water or in shallow water) under the combined action of waves, current and wind.
The main components of the BGO First test basin include:
- Tank with a water depth of 5 metres and a deep pit of 10 metres
- Wave generators
- Wave absorbing beaches
- Current generators
- Wind generators
- Mobile base, gantry and control system
For specific coastal models, OCEANIDE operates a coastal wave tank and a wave flume under wave action.
As of today, OCEANIDE has successfully completed more than 230 test campaigns for a wide range of clients and a large variety of marine structures in the following domains:
